Top dressing is an often overlooked lawn maintenance
task that can provide many benefits to the garden lawn. This task is most commonly integrated
as part of the autumn lawn care program and usually follows some form of aeration,
scarification and overseeding. The benefits of a regular top dressing program can include

Aeration is without doubt one of the most important
lawn maintenance operations carried out on turf. Most lawns and turf areas will at some point
suffer from compaction which in turn has a detrimental effect on the health of the lawn. Soil

Scarifying also known as dethatching is another very important lawn maintenance task most
commonly undertaken during the spring and autumn maintenance programs. The main purpose of lawn

Many types of grasses can be found and used in lawns and
turf, some are wanted, while some are not welcome and are classed as weed grasses. Fine
textured luxury lawns will ideally contain a high percentage bent and fescue. However general
